I'm a couple days belated this week, but here is this week's Field Trip Friday (and happy Father's Day to anyone celebrating!)

- Passwords were leaked for millions of Twitter accounts. Make sure yours is well-protected! And on that note, here's some additional advice on protecting your accounts.

- People are too cool for the period these days, apparently.

- Gawker is filing for bankruptcy.

- Agent Kristin Nelson suggests that former Egmont authors check their royalty statements closely to make sure they are receiving proper earnings.

- There is now a Rotten Tomatoes for books, which could turn out to be a great or terrible thing, I guess.

- An article by author Jennifer Weiner entitled The Snobs and Me.

- A reposted article on Bookriot discusses how to find queer books.

- Author Summer Heacock wrote this blog post about the pressure to share personal information about yourself, and about the way we pounce when someone doesn't.

- Facebook has some updated resources to help those experiencing suicidal thoughts.

- Sadly, author Lois Duncan passed away this week.

- Bookriot discusses some highlights from the Lambda literary awards.
