Cover Reveal: ADRENALINE CRUSH by Laurie Boyle Crompton

Today we are so happy to be hosting the newly re-designed cover for Laurie Boyle Crompton's ADRENALINE CRUSH.

Laurie's Thoughts:

The first time I saw the original cover for my new novel, Adrenaline Crush, I nearly jumped as high as the girl in the picture. The look on her face, her outstretched arms, the way she appears to be jumping yet falling. I thought she could totally pull off being my kickass main character, Dyna. As soon as I had permission to share I got busy wallpapering the internet with the image. I even got a little crafty and made a small test batch of buttons and an iron-on T-shirt. (The only reason I own an iron is to create custom T-shirts.)

Perhaps those items will be collector’s swag one day because I soon got the sad news my cover had to change due to a photo rights issue. I’ve been through this before. My first novel, Blaze, went through a title change as well as a dramatic cover change. I know that these things usually work out for the best.

I still cried.

But I also trusted that the awesome designer, Alexander, had made a perfect cover once, and he could surely do it again. I mean, how hard could it be to find a kickass girl jumping in the air twice? I can’t speak to the difficulty, but as soon as I saw the girl on the new cover my reaction was, “YES! That’s Dyna.” And oh, would you like to meet her? So happy to (re)reveal the cover for Adrenaline Crush! (Sept 23, 2014 / FSG) I’ll go back to jumping in the air now.

The cover:

When a daredevil teen pushes herself too far, she must choose between two boys: the one who wants to keep her safe, and the one who dares her to return to her old self.

Seventeen-year-old Dyna comes from a family of risk takers and is an avid thrill-seeker herself, until the day she splinters her ankle in a terrible fall. Her whole life goes from mountain biking and rock climbing to sitting at home and attending group sessions at the bizarre alternative healing center that her hippie mother found. The boy who witnessed Dyna’s accident believes her injury is a wakeup call and he encourages her mild new lifestyle, but a young Afghanistan War veteran she meets at the healing center pushes her to start taking chances again. Forced to face the consequences of her daredevil impulses, Dyna finds herself in danger of risking the one thing she’s always treated with caution—her heart. (from Goodreads)

About Laurie

Laurie Boyle Crompton is the author of BLAZE (Sourcebooks/Feb 2013) and THE REAL PROM QUEENS OF WESTFIELD HIGH (Sourcebooks/Feb 2014). ADRENALINE CRUSH will be published by FSG/Macmillan on September 23, 2014. Laurie caught the writing bug back in high school while reading an essay she'd composed aloud to her class. Her classmates laughed in all the right places. It was like the opposite of that nightmare where everyone laughs while you stand there in your underwear. She was giddy with power.

Laurie graduated first in her class from St. John's University with a major in English and minor in Journalism. Since then she's written for national magazines like ALLURE as well as numerous trade publications and has appeared on Good Day New York several times as a Toy Expert. Yes. That is a real thing that people sometimes get paid to be.

She lives near NYC, but maintains a secret identity in New Paltz, NY where she and her family can often be found climbing over rocks or tromping through the forest. You can visit her at
