Hey everyone! Back again with a handful of reading recommendations straight from the mouths of YA Highwayers. Reads for the Roads works like this.
Our recs for April (go out and read these books!!!):
Kate read The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton: a YA Allende-style magical realism set in Seattle. If you need more convincing, this isn't the book for you.
Amy reread Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn: a beautifully grotesque story that has
fascinating characters and to-die-for writing.
Kaitlin recommends Laini Taylor's Dreams of Gods & Monsters for a beautiful ending to one of her favorite series of all time.
Vee read Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain which was a fascinating exploration of how to RECLAIM YOUR INTROVERT POWER (and why our society is set up so you have to).
Kristin devoured The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski for its lovely writing, richly built world and wonderfully unique and effective take on the "enemies to lovers to...something else" trope.
What did you read in April that you want EVERYONE to pick up?
Happy reading! ~ Kristin
