YA 2013: A Cover Story

YA 2013: A Cover Story
(Hope your YA year has been great! Enjoy!)*

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Ya (short for Anya). Ya's favorite thing to do was to sew long, huge, flowing dresses. She really, really loved those dresses.

One day, she discovered something incredible: should could fly! She used her new power to catch boys.

One of the boys she caught (his name was Lit) was really cute. She decided to keep him as her own. They kissed a lot, Ya and Lit.

One day, a war broke out. Anya knew that her powers could come in handy to fight off evil. But she didn't want to leave Lit. She stared worriedly into the distance, thinking about what to do.

But in the end, she knew she had to protect her world. So she went off to fight - and she never looked back. (Okay, she looked back once. Or twice. But just for dramatic effect.)

Yay, Ya! (And maybe she'll reunite with Lit someday.)

  1. I love it! I don't have a cover yet, but I seriously wish I wrote at least one flowing dress scene so Ya could sew one for my MC. So gorgeous, but looking back is awesome too :)

  7. I know the prom dress/gown thing has been overdone but...I like the pretty dress covers. So long as it fits the book. Love the subtle creepy factor of Madman's Daughter; that cover is far better than showing some of the stuff from the book, btw (actual creepy).
