Welcome to our 177th Road Trip Wednesday!
We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link - or, if you prefer, you can include your answer in the comments.
This Week's Topic: In our Bookmobile selection this month, Debra Driza's MILA 2.0, the main character discovers she's an android trained to obey orders. We want to know: What other human-like robots (or robot-like humans?) have you enjoyed in books, TV, or movies?
Road Trip Song of the Week: "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Part 1" by The Flaming Lips
Next Week: What was the best book you read in April?
And don't forget, you can join in a live chat with Debra Driza to talk MILA 2.0 Tuesday, April 30 at 6pm PST/9pm EST!

It was a bit of a challenge finding a way to make today's RTW topic fit with the A-to-Z Blogging Challenge letter for today ("U")--but I think I managed it. It might be a stretch, but it works for me: Here's my answer!
ReplyDeleteThis one was much harder than it should have been, but I tried very, very hard not to fall back on "but my genre is high fantasy..." as an excuse! :P

Today's RTW was eye-opening. Click here to find out why.
ReplyDeleteI saw this topic and immediately thought of the song: "You've Got A Friend In Me". Rather appropriate for my choices.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't pick just one ... so I did a list of my five favourites, playing around the concept a fair bit. :) You can read the whole post here
ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm actually reading a robot book for one of my sci-fi picks for my Children's Lit class, Norby Down to Earth, by Isaac Asimov and his second wife Janet. I was looking for Asimov books in the children's room, not sure I'd find any, and was really excited to find out he had indeed written some books for kids. Robot stories are awesome, and I love Norby!
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to robots, you have to go with the classics like Asimov. Excellent choice.
DeleteRobot-like Humans or Human-like Robots?
