Halloween is almost here and that means it's high time for another Great YA Highway Pumpkin Carving Contest! The rules? Submit a picture of your YA-themed pumpkin (you can comment in this post and link to your photo) by noon on Friday, November 2nd. We'll pick three winners and each winner gets an ARC. The ARCs up for grabs are:
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
Touched by Corrine Jackson
And if you need some help or inspiration, our absolutely amazing Kate Hart has done it again by making some very special YA pumpkin carving stencils that you are all welcome to use. We're highlighting a few below and to download the patterns (and there are many more to choose from), click
here. More info over at
Kate Hart's blog.
Got it? Go! And to all who are in the path of Hurricane Sandy this week, we're thinking of you!
That is beyond awesome! I can't wait to see how this translates to actual pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable!! I love the Shadow and Bone one--though I'm not sure I have the skills to pull that off, even with the stencil :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but here is the URL link to my YA themed pumpkin.

Ooh, thank you, Amanda! That's beautiful!
DeleteVery nice!!! Good luck to those entering. I'm not much of a carver, or I'd be all over this!!!
ReplyDeleteTrakena, feel free to paint or decorate or whatever else too! :)
DeleteThanks for including Arclight among the covers, guys :-)
ReplyDeleteI would attempt a YA pumpkin, but sadly, my carving skills are such that I can't even make symmetrical triangle eyes.
So hard to choose just ONE pumpkin to enter! I'll go with Dumbledore: http://www.christiespeich.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Dumbledore_ChristieSpeich.jpg
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing!
DeleteHere is my Shadow and Bone pumpkin!I hope you like it! :)

That is adorable!
DeleteLove it!
DeleteI am a little saddened by the Twilight pumpkins. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteLast year I made a Tenth Doctor pumpkin. That was FUN but it fell apart almost immediately. I think I made it a little too thin. XD
This year, I don't really have time for pumpkins... I got married instead. =D
Congratulations!
