Road Trip Wednesday #145: Best Book of August

Welcome to our 145th Road Trip Wednesday!

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link - or, if you prefer, you can include your answer in the comments.

(Note for any Road Trip fans on Tumblr: We are also asking all our RTW questions on our YA Highway Tumblr, and you're more than welcome to answer there, or link back to your Tumblr in this post!)

This Week's Topic is: What was the best book you read in August?

Road Trip Song of the Week: "You Are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne

Next week's topic: Back to school time! What's your favorite book that you had to read for a class?

  12. I had two five star reviews in August, BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY by Ruta Sepetys and OCTOBER MOURNING by Lesléa Newman. I review OCTOBER MOURNING here.

  13. How fast August went! Mockingjay and The Book Thief both took me ages to get through. I chose Wanderlove as my August fave: A Girl and Her Diary Blog

  16. Sadly I didn't read much in August because I was preparing for school, and whatnot. A lame excuse, sorry. I'll be back next week for sure. :D

  19. I seem to be in the majority where August was a slow reading month. That makes me feel better about my lousy number of books I read in August.

  22. Haven't been doing as much reading in August, but I read Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys after hearing her speak at LA SCBWI. WOW! So deserving of all the accolades and awards.

P.S. Also giggled to myself when I saw the waiting list for it at the library--how many people were on that list because they wanted some titillating BDSM? This book isn't even close to that!
