~*WANDERLOVE Release Day Giveaway!*~

(the giveaway is over! thanks for entering!)

Today is Wanderlove's release day!

Amazon ~ IndieBound ~ Barnes & Noble ~ Book Depository

IN STOCK.

(wild!!!)

In honor of Wanderlove's release, I'm holding a HUGE giveaway right here on YA Highway.  It includes Mayan string bracelets (like the ones Rowan wears in the book!), Central American pocket sketchbooks, signed Wanderlove and Like Mandarin bookmarks, Like Mandarin paperbacks... and signed prints of Wanderlove illustrations.

First, I thought I'd share a little bit about the book.

So what's Wanderlove about?
It's about an 18-year-old girl named Bria who travels to Central America to get over a rotten relationship, and the brother-and-sister backpacker pair who guide her. It's about art, and travel, and self-rediscovery. Most of all, it's about love: for the unlikely places, passions and people who fit us just right.

On a personal level, Wanderlove is a very special book. It's not only packed with many of my favorite travel destinations (visit www.wanderlove.com for more) but Bria's artistic journey is also straight from my heart. Wanderlove is illustrated! By me. (I mean, Bria.)

I'm so, so excited to share it with you.

My Wanderlove video series

During my recent travels in Central America, I brought a copy of Wanderlove along, and filmed myself reading passages in stunning settings. The following book blogs were gracious enough to host the videos – I hope you'll check them out!

Wanderlove #1: I could picture it already

Wanderlove #2: one trillion sketchbooks

Wanderlove #3: who are these people?

Wanderlove #4: we never exchanged names

Wanderlove #5: have you ever been in love?

Wanderlove #6: the places you get, girl

And now, what you've been waiting for...

  1. I'd love to travel just about anywhere in the world but South America and the Caribbean hole particular interest for me. I think a cruise to Trinidad would be awesome, or a canoe trip down the Amazon through Patagonia. :)

  2. I'd love to travel to Spain, but not the touristy bits - instead the towns off the beaten track, where no one chooses for their holiday. It's the only other language I can speak so I would be able to talk to the locals (and find out where the best Tortilla Espanola could be found!) and it would just in general be awesome. Plus, Spanish boys...

  3. I would love to travel to Peru or Greece!

  7. I would love to travel all over. The year before last my friend and I made a list (that grows all the time) of places we want to go. We've pretty much decided that we'll just go all over, all 50 states to say we did and all the countries. I know first on both our lists is Greece though (I heart mythology).

My dad is Scottish, and the untamed beauty of Scotland really draws me in. When I'm watching videos about it or reading books I feel closer to myself.

  51. Congratulations, Kirsten! I can only imagine what release days like this feel like (but maybe one day I'll be able to stop imagining and start experiencing it myself) for you and other authors.

I've always wanted to go to Europe and just explore. My best friend Stephanie had a very vivid dream back when we were high school freshman about us (her, our other best friend Kayla, and I) going to Paris, Barcelona, and other European cities and having the time of our lives with boys, shopping, and plenty of food. It was just a dream, but it's three years later and that's still the distant dream we hope will come true one day.

    ReplyDelete

She was the only one of her family to leave Romania and I think it would be so cool to find out if I still have family there

    ReplyDelete
  83. I would absolutely love to travel to Australia - it's on the opposite side of the world where I grew up and has always seemed so exotic to me. I'd also love to go back to St. Tropez, I lived there for a summer when I was younger and it is one of my fondest memories; filled with beauty and laughs with my family and relaxing and just being where we were. I want to do exactly that, so I can stop and look around at the places I'm passing and camp out. Then once I'd get to Italy I'd stuff myself with Italian food. Heaven! I'd go with my boyfriend because that's the country we've picked as our first holiday together abroad. :)

  120. A bit of a weird choice, but I'd like to go to where my father was born and grew up in, Gao You, China. It's a rather backwater countryside town that mainly grew rice and the conditions are rather terrible, but now that my father is successful here in the United States, I'd like to travel back to his childhood with him and understand where he came from and my identity as well.
