Road Trip Wednesday #111: Best Books of the Year

Welcome to our 111th Road Trip Wednesday!

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link - or, if you prefer, you can include your answer in the comments.

This Week's Topic
We're combining today's RTW with Highwayer Sarah Enni's End-of-the-Year blog carnival, and asking:
What were your top five favorite books of 2011?

  25. Sorry. Hyperlink issues.

    Happy new year everyone!

    Here's mine.

  26. This was so, so easy! Here's mine:

  27. I need to start keeping a list of books that I read. I can't for the life of me remember when I read certain books (whether it was this year or not) apart from the whole "Songs of Ice and Fire" series, re-reading The Hunger Games trilogy over a weekend (don't ever do this). Anyway, here's a few books I was surprised I liked:

  28. So hard to narrow it down to just five...

  29. I had to pick SIX...

  30. Great lists!
    I just could not decide...

  31. TOOOOO many books. I had to split into two lists (with honorable mentions), and then stuck with some of the smaller titles that grabbed my heart, versus the bigger names that were more universally loved.

Excited to see everyone else's lists!

  32. Here's my top 5 of 2011.

    But i loved many more!

  33. My answer...

But I must say reading some of the other answers my 'to read' list has grown.

  34. My list here:

Also, my reaction to every book I read this year summarized in one sentence:

  35. I barely read any new releases this year because I was focusing on my to-read backlog, so I decided to do two lists: the top five books I read in 2011 and the five 2011 releases I can't wait to finally read.

  36. I was on the road yesterday :-) Back to Germany after a family visit in France so I did not post...However I did share on Monday my reading memories of 2011

Now for my 2011 favs (in YA)
    1. The Scorpio Races
    2. Tangled Tides
    3. Die For Me
    4. The DUFF
    5. Imaginary Girls

  37. They may not have all come out in 2011, but these are ones that I found and loved this year. Happy New Year!

    1. Divergent
    2. Anna and the French Kiss
    3. A Game of Thrones
    4. Unearthly
    5. The Knife of Never Letting Go

  38. Best book of the year for me (Technically published in Australia. For America it'll be a 2012 book) was BY FAR Froi of the Exiles.

On my blog I made a favorite books I read in 2011 list.
