Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.
We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link -- or, if you prefer, you can include your answer in the comments.
What was the best book you read in July?
Ooh, loved this topic! Too bad I haven't had the chance to get much reading done this month.

I couldn't choose--but it's not my fault. July was a really good reading month. :) http://www.rebeccabehrens.com/2011/07/rtw-best-book-of-july.html
ReplyDeleteThis was such an easy question for me this month (everything I read was good, but one book was GREAT) that I can answer really early today!

This month I picked--gasp--and ADULT book! (I also read lots of excellent YA.)

I really adored Tabitha Suzman's Forbidden. It was powerful stuff. Another one I gobbled up was Divergent (read in about a day) and the DUFF (another book in a day).
ReplyDeleteJuly was a good month for books! :)
This was such a no brainer: http://bit.ly/pEHEh2
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad we're doing Best Book of the Month again! Here's mine:

I confess to reading two books this month (unless you count reading my own book over and over during rewrites) and only one was YA!
ReplyDeleteIt was Writing Young Adult Fiction for Dummies by Deborah Halverson. A very good overview of how YA has changed in recent years, steps you can take with improving your craft so that your book stands out (in a good way), and so on. Like all the Dummies books, different levels of writers will get different things out of it.
Have fun with the road trip, everybody! I'll pop into a few blogs later today, because I'll be in a better position for reading in a few weeks.
It was hard for me to choose favorites, so I choose two books that I love dearly. Loooove this topic. ;)

Divergent was the best book I read this month. It is one of those reads that I find myself thinking about all the time, and wanting to talk about to complete strangers.

ReplyDeleteWhere She Went by Gayle Foreman - the very satisfying sequel to If I Stay.
Awesome topic!! And great for me, because I'm actually giving away my favorite July book on the blog this week (along with a few other fantasy ARCs):

Hmm... definitely "Goliath" by Scott Westerfield, but it's a big tie in with "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman.
ReplyDeleteGreat topic.

July was busy here but i found a best... http://beck-nicholas.blogspot.com/2011/07/books-and-fire-trucks.html
ReplyDeleteMy favorite read this month -- this year, actually -- is DAUGHTER OF SMOKE & BONE by Laini Taylor.

The best book I read in July was The Hunger Games. Read this to find out what I thought:
ReplyDeleteBest Book I Read In July
I'm late, I know! Blame AT&T and my job. :)
ReplyDeletehttp://overyonderlit.blogspot.com/2011/07/rtw-best-of-july.html
This month, the best book I read was by far and away 13 REASONS WHY by Jay Asher. It was totally amazing!
ReplyDeletewww.acgaughen.com
I started the Hunger Games books at the beginning of July and currently I'm half way through Mockingjay.
ReplyDeleteThe best was Hungers Games. Ugh! I just loved it. Its brilliant. The story, the writing, the details. I'm there in Panem every step of the way.
And rarely am I as enchanted by 2nd, 3rd or 4th books but Catching Fire proved to be only a hair less spectacular than it's predecessor. And so far Mockingjay is on the same path. I'm in love and don't want it to end.
That's easy. I've already reviewed it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteFeed by Mira Grant was BY FAR the best book though July has been a month of really good books (Heartless, Raging Quiet, etc)
