In The Name of Research
Welcome to our 81st Road Trip Wednesday!
Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question and answer it on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.
We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link in the comments - or, if you prefer, you can include your answer in the comments.
This Week's Topic:
I'm pretty sure I am on some kind of watch list after I emailed my state police department and asked about body decomposition, DNA, and how they identify a body that has been buried in a shallow grave in the woods! LOL
ReplyDeleteI may win most unique, if nothing else.
ReplyDeleteFantastic topic! Here's mine

I'm happy for the opportunity to explain why the Feds might pick me up any day now... ;)

I haven't done anything that would get the feds on me (not yet, anyway), but mine is a little embarrassing:

Here's mine!
ReplyDeleteI was asked to do an article on the history of cutlery. So, I would say that's probably the strangest thing I've had to research.
ReplyDeleteExorcism

My very first book had a world that relied heavily on the functions of chemicals and hormones in the brain, so I did a lot of research about that. A LOT. Enough that, when I began asking my science teacher obscure questions about the human brain, she asked, "What is this even for?" I was a more than a little embarrassed to say, "A book I'm writing," because we all know the dreaded "OMG YOU WROTE A BOOK?!" conversation. *facepalm*
ReplyDeleteMost of it is not that far off, but like many, the span of the information I'm gathering is just odd:

I can't think of one single thing, but my Google search history might get me arrested one day... http://sarahnicolas.com/blog/2011/06/ya-highway-research/

I'm probably not alone in this, but: VIOLENCE! ;) http://lmoh.livejournal.com/14696.html
ReplyDeleteIt's not Wednesday anymore, so I'll just say I felt a little strange when I researched how to skin a rabbit. There is a really great (rather gross) Youtube video that's very educational.
