Winner: Micol Ostow's FAMILY

Sometimes a number makes you itchy. So it was when we'd hit 1899 followers. We like round numbers, so in our itchiness, we threw down a spontaneous ARC giveaway on twitter: Micol Ostow's chilling FAMILY to a random follower as soon as we hit 1900. And it happened within minutes.

Before I announce the random winner (and you didn't even know you'd entered a contest!) I want to assure you that we appreciate our readers so, so much. We're grateful to you when you direct us to FTF links, when you comment on posts with your thoughtfulness and expertise, when you cheer along with us when good things happen, when you participate in Road Trip Wednesday. You are an essential and amazing part of our online community and THANK YOU!!!!

FAMILY (back copy):

On the surface, it is a day like any other when seventeen-year-old Melinda Jensen hits the road for San Francisco, leaving behind her fractured home life and a constant assault on her self-esteem. Henry is the handsome, charismatic man who comes upon her, collapsed on a park bench, and offers love, a bright new consciousness, and - best of all - a family. One that will embrace her and give her love. Because family is what Mel has never really had. And this new family, Henry's family, shares everything. They share the chores, their bodies and their beliefs. And if Mel truly wants to belong, she will share in everything they do. No matter what the family does, or how far they go.

Told in episodic verse, FAMILY is a fictionalized exploration of cult dynamics, loosely based on the Manson Family murders of 1969. It is an unflinching look at people who are born broken, and the lengths they'll go to to make themselves "whole" again.

The random winner of a FAMILY ARC is:

Vincent Kale

Vincent, shoot us an email with your mailing address to and we'll post your ARC ASAP.

Thanks again, awesome readers!!!! <3

This book looks/sounds amazing and I'm looking forward to reading it. I'll even post a review on my blog and make sure to add linky props back to the Highway.

Keep up the good work, ladies!
