I thought that was a pretty awesome idea.
Being a writer can be lonely. We huddle at our cafe tables, laptop open, steaming macchiato at its side, and create conversations and situations that happen to people who exist only in our minds. We open Twitter and Facebook periodically – hell, let's be honest, we rarely close them – to see how the real life peoples are doing. Wouldn't it be great if we really could hang out in a cafe with fellow writers while we worked?
Why can't we?
We can. Twice a month, YA Highway invites you to join us at the Highway Cafe! The Cafe is located in SavorChat (bathrooms are in the back on the right, and be nice to the barista, he's new). We'll be tweeting the link and the password to get in before and during the hang with the hashtag #HighwayCafe, so if you don't follow us on Twitter, please do!
What's the point? To write, to share, to motivate. We'll chat about our current projects, share snippets, share word counts or word count goals – if you're looking for a beta reader, you might even find one here.
Here's the details for our first gathering of caffeinated writerly goodness:
