Road Trip Wednesday #38: Greatest Hits

Welcome to our 38th Road Trip Wednesday!

Road Trip Wednesday is a "Blog Carnival," where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question and answer it on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link in the comments.

This Week's Topic:
Give us a link to the best blog post you've ever written!

---

Kate: Maybe not my best post ever, but it certainly got the most hits...

Kirsten: Well, that depends on what you mean by best...

Kaitlin: Evidently, the posts I like best are the ones where I get on my soapbox...

Michelle:  I link to this entirely too much, but what can I say? I suck, I really, really suck...

---
This week's road trip song:
"Dark Star" by the Grateful Dead

Next Week's Topic: Best book you read in July

Kate is the author of After the Fall, coming January 24, 2017 from Farrar, Straus and Giroux. A former teacher and grant writer, she now owns a treehouse-building business in the Ozarks and hosts the Badass Ladies You Should Know interview series.

Not necessarily the posts that got the most hits (though the John Green one did pretty well)

  7. Oh man, I had a tough time choosing. I don't think any of my posts are ground-breaking but re-reading this one (http://sarahnfisk.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-story.html) made me tear up a bit.

I'm also really proud of this one (http://sarahnfisk.blogspot.com/2010/06/spots-and-all.html) because it's the first time I've publicly written about my disease. It also inspired one of my RL friends to talk to me about his Psoriasis, which he normally doesn't do.

  8. This is still one of my faves. It got a lot of comments *and* hits, and Therese Walsh thanked me in an email for highlighting her work as a good example. (I *heart* her)

The topic is about different ways to make a first page strong (all of it my own opinion, though), and then I posted some examples of what I thought were strong chapter or scene openings in my YA novel, SUMMER HOAX. (FYI: at the time I posted, the novel was "in progress", but it is now completely finished and on the query-go-round)

  17. This is definitely my most popular post (so far, because my blog is still a newborn). Someone had retweeted it, and another mentioned it in their links of the week, which really pleased me. ;)

  19. I would post mine, but my fave post of mine is a too-long vlog of me talking about deadly undercooked chicken and being generally unfamily friendly.

  20. This one, because I wrote it specifically for my husband, and Janet Reid found it before he did:

  22. Sorry it's a little late. I was away yesterday, and then I was pretty tired today. Here's what I think might be my best post... not exactly sure. It's more of a review actually.

Rereading that, I see that my reviews used to have more energy. Oh my gosh I feel so old now, and I'm a teenager! >.< I'm not supposed to feel this way! :P
