    I would say my favorite YA novel, to this day, is The Giver. Incredibly poignant, incredibly well imagined and written, incredibly relatable. Ironically (or perhaps not) it was one of my college freshman (I teach comp.) that brought this book to my attention.

  86. THe best YA book I've read was Paper Towns. I also Loved The Book Thief. I teach middle school and all my kids LOVE the Hunger Games. Sarah Dessen Lock and Key is also on my summer reading list.

    The best part of being a middle school teacher, besides being a teacher, is the YA books. Off to tell the world about your contest.

  127. Amazing contest! But to actually choose my favourite YA novel(s)? Yeah, that's not so easy.
    I love Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones (the two accompanying books, not so much), and I absolutely adore Tamora Pierce's books, especially the Magic Circle quartet.
    Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtic Klause is one of those books that I dust off preiodically and re-read.
    But if I had to choose a more recent book, The Hunger Games just absolutely blew me away when I read it and I can't wait for Mockingjay to come out so that I can find out what happens next.

    All of these books look great - really looking forward to Linger, Mockingjay & Dead Tossed Waves (but need to read the earlier books in the series first. :)

    The Forbidden Game Trilogy by L.J. Smith - I think is the most underrated of any Smith series
    The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

    I'm stopping at 5 books/series. If I don't I'll just go on forever.
