YA Highway

nomadic novelists celebrate fiction's most exciting age group: young adult

Welcome to our 22nd Road Trip Wednesday!

Road Trip Wednesday is a "Blog Carnival," where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question and answer it on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

We'd love for you to participate! Just answer the prompt on your own blog and leave a link in the comments -- or since this week's topic is a short one, you can include your answer in the comments.

This Week's Topic:
Which writer's career would you most like to emulate?
(Borrowing a prompt from agent Nathan Bransford

Kaitlin: "I narrowed it down by thinking, who don't I want to be?"

Kirsten: "Smartassedness aside, my answer is..."

Leila: "I would buy a beautiful villa in Ponsonby!"

Kate: "I expect a collective gasp when I say this..."

Amanda: "Are you the kind of writer that wants to be a household name?"

Lee: "I guess the overall theme here is approachability."

Kristin Sr.: "Great Shoes: 'nuff said. (yes, this IS related to my career)"

  2. From what most of the YA Highwayers said, we can all pretty much assume NO ONE wants to be JKR or S. Meyer.

    :-) My answer:

Btw, maybe I just missed it, but will there be a RTW next week?

  8. I like this question. I actually didn't comment on Nathan's blog (though I meant to), so writing a post about this was really fun!

    Mine is here.

  10. Oh...I just noticed the song of the week. I LOVE it! I was obsessed with that song when I was a kid. Then, when I was eleven, I might have maybe borrowed the album from my mom and never returned it. I think after 14 years, she maybe doesn't miss it.
