Yay:) I think some of these are going to be fantastic movies.
ReplyDeleteThe Immortal Instruments trilogy (City of Glass, etc...) have recently been purchased as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how many film rights I've seen being sold this summer. I'm interested to see which actually get produced and how they're received.
I get upset about this because I never feel like they do a good enough job. Harry Potter was a notable exception. And Lord of the Rings. But Twilight was kind of a disaster in my opinion...
ReplyDeleteLOTR....ah, if only Peter Jackson directed all book-to-movies. I have high hopes for The Lovely Bones.
ReplyDeleteThanks, MeganRebekah! Added that to the list!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love YA books being optioned for movies. They have the right action, the right pacing, the romance, the humor - everything needed for good movies.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kristin. I'm sick of bad remakes, especially when there are so many great books aching for adaptation. Also, films skyrocket sales of the books on which they're based, which is great for the YA genre as a whole.
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay is getting a movie, too, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIf that's done right, it'll be so beautiful.
Lotr was the best, I really hope mrtal instraments is good, and hungar games. but i reckon mortal instraments could be like the huge thing if the movie is good. And wings! thats cool ive neva read it but heard of it. Miley..
ReplyDeleteI will die of fangirliness when The Mortal Instruments comes out. CAN'T. WAIT.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Kristin!
ReplyDeleteThey're making Shiver into a movie? COOL! (Even though I haven't actually read the book yet.) I can't wait for Hunger Games to come out. Do you think they'll make Catching Fire and the third book into movies too?
ReplyDeleteAlso you're forgetting Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, the movie for which is scheduled for release February of next year. And will, of course, not be as good as the book.
I wish they'd make Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce into a movie. I love that book...
Oh man, WILD MAGIC would be incredible. *daydreams*
ReplyDeleteVery exciting! I'm always a little nervous to see movies being made from books I loved but I can't help be excited about it too. As Kristen said, it helps the book and the genre, and I love hearing about people who liked the movie, and went out and bought the book and loved it even more.
ReplyDeleteWhats great about THE HUNGER GAMES being made into a movie is that Suzanne Collins (the author of the trilogy) is writing the screenplay. So you KNOW its going to be good.
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay was such a fantastic, heartfelt story. I am really curious to see how it translates.
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay was AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteAccording to IMDB, The Lovely Bones is going to release next January.
